The world faces an urgent need to develop drugs for the growing population, yet the drug and vaccine pipeline is almost dry.  ThirdBio is committed to finding solutions to help close the gap. At a fundamental level, many great discoveries never overcome the obstacles of rigorous scientific development and ThirdBio is playing the role of facilitating research at all levels with strong corporate citizenship and assisting early research activities.  ThirdBio has created the Molecular Engineering Research Institute (MERI) to provide support for scientists working in the early stages of research and development, hoping to create the newest cure.

MERI conducts research focuses on the development and application of molecular based computational and theoretical methods for the design of chemical systems and processes. The overall objective is to develop a theoretical understanding of important chemical systems in order to advance beyond empirical approaches which are based on heuristics and conceptual understanding and translate our theories into verifiable, predictive and confirmatory development programs.
